Visa-free entry and permitted stay are different

Some passports have a visa exemption; others require a visa. Your nationality and your country of residence are different facts. This guide focuses on short tourist visits. Check any shorter country-specific allowance together with the general 90-in-180-day limit.

Use the official e-Visa application route

Eligible applicants use the Republic of Türkiye’s official e-Visa system. Not every passport requiring a visa qualifies for an e-Visa. Age, supporting visas or residence permits, travel purpose and other conditions are checked during the application. Work and study use different application routes.

Check passport validity against your travel dates

The general rule is that a passport remains valid for at least 60 days beyond the permitted stay. Exceptions apply to some documents and entry with national identity cards. The Ministry also recommends at least six months of validity from arrival; confirm the official rule for your document.

Does a European residence permit give me visa-free entry?

A residence permit and nationality are different. Check the rules for your own passport country. A supporting residence permit can be one condition of certain e-Visa applications.

What if I hold a diplomatic or service passport?
